Early Career

Darcus Breeze heard the demos the singer had sent and asked, "Who was that girl with the voice of jazz and blues".  At this stage, Amy was presented with the National Youth Jazz Orchestra. While playing, Simon Fuller also heard the voice of the singer, and in 2002, she managed to be invited to audition vocal in their label. Thus, Amy played in an acoustic environment in the room Board of Universal / Island, where he presented his performance of There Is No Greater Love.

Soon after, Amy signed a contract with Island Records and went on to produce a material with musical Salaam Remi. John The White Rapper, who was among the executives Island, said Winehouse's voice saying: "I do not really say much of that time, Amy was singing and I remember being impressed, I never heard anyone sing so beautiful so close me: I could only speak to have her in the studio ".

While in development by the company, Winehouse was kept secret in the recording industry. Darcus Beese, after deciding to hire a singer, took months to figure out where Amy was.
