Cildhood and Adolescence


Amy Winehouse was born on September 14, 1983, in a suburban area of ​​Southgate, London neighborhood, a Jewish family of four and turned to jazz music tradition. Her father, Mitchell Winehouse, was a taxi driver and his mother, Janis, pharmaceuticals. Amy also had an older brother, Alex Winehouse. She also grew up in Southgate, where he studied music at Ashmole School.

Since the early years, Amy has been in touch with the musical world since most of his maternal uncles were professional musicians of jazz. In addition, his father had a habit of singing with her classic Frank Sinatra, his passion for making music increasingly evident. As a child, I used to listen soul musicians such as Billie Holiday and Etta James, who exercised strong influences on their creations.

Amy spent much of his childhood and adolescence witnessing marital infidelity of her father.  In an interview with a British television network, the father of the singer revealed that em1983, began an affair with a coworker, who became his wife in 1996. Her parents divorced when she was nine years old,  then Amy and her brother were in the custody of the mother.  In the same age, was encouraged by her grandmother Cynthia, who was a singer, to enroll in a particular school of arts to promote your vocal education. At ten years old, founded an amateur rap banda called Sweet 'n' Sour, the Sour.  She described the band as The little white Jewish Salt-n-Pepa (a little Salt-n-Pepa Jewish). According to the parents of Amy, she did not show much talent and sang shyly,  so they believed she did not have many expectations.  Amy received his first electric guitar at thirteen years of age. Still a teenager, he began taking drugs.  At fifteen, he composed his first songs  and tried to help his family financially, singing in a small local jazz band called Bolshie.  She began performing in pubs in London, and at sixteen, she recorded a demo tape with her friend, soul singer Tyler James, who sent it to the director of Island Records.
